Piazza is a question-and-answer platform using a message-board platform with Wiki-style layout. Integrate it asynchronously or use it for live Q&A sessions.

Post collaborative discussions - once a post or question has been created, anyone in
the class can respond to or answer it.  Piazza also does anonymous polls.

Use the statistics feature to track participation of students in your class. Piazza gives you the information you need to gauge how students comprehend the course or may be struggling.
