What is Zoom?
Zoom is a cloud-based communication platform that combines video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration.

Getting Started
All UCR faculty, staff, students, and affiliates have access to an Education account by logging in with UCR NetID. This licensed account type allows video conferences of up to 24 hours with up to 300 participants at a time.
Download and log into Zoom at https://ucr.zoom.us/ with your NetID and password.
To Increase Meeting Security at Set-Up Stage:
- Create a Unique Meeting ID
- Set Screen Sharing to Host-Only
- Enable Waiting Room
- Embed Password in Link for One-Click Join
- Mute Participants Upon Entry
- Host and Co-Host Controls in a Meeting (skip video to 1:02)
- Limit meeting access to UCR-users only:
- Select “Require Authentication to Join” and then choose “Sign into UCR Zoom.” Please have participants log in using their UCR credentials
